Here are the 3 things you need to do to change your mindset

Your mindset can change drastically from one day to the next. You feel gloomy, you feel like nothing is working, and you keep stirring negative ideas. Suddenly you wake up and get a great idea, everything starts clicking and making sense. You get one good news, and then another, which stimulate your mood and self-esteem. How does that happen? You need to do these 3 things.

Believe everything always turns out for the best

If you are alive and well today, it means that technically your life is good. Anything else is just details. You have a job, a roof over your head, money to pay for your expenses. Of course, we don't always feel satisfied with what we have and wish we still could get more. But at the foundation is the fact that your life has been working fine for you all along, and you need to realize that. It’s sometimes hard to do when we assess our results and are incapable of looking at them from an objective point of view. Nevertheless, if you look more closely, you will realize you have been able to manage your life pretty well so far, which means there is no reason why it should drastically change in the future.

I strongly believe in the concept of self-fulfilling prophecy whereby whatever you think, wish and believe will come true.

This goes for negative as well as for positive thinking. If you think and believe you are not going to achieve your goals, that you are going to meet the wrong people on the way, all your thoughts and actions are going to express this thinking; therefore, you will get only what you asked for. On the contrary, if you believe you are going to reach the targets you set for yourself, you are going to get the exact apartment you want, this is what is going to happen.

This has nothing do with wishful thinking, it’s just that all your thoughts are going to determine your actions, for better or worse.

Keep doing without stopping

We have talked about momentum before and how to create movement for your life. You can put your mindset to the test by keeping yourself busy in the right way. As we mentioned yesterday, not keeping busy with mundane tasks; rather, being busy with clearing the steps that get you closer to what you need and want.

You must relentlessly do what is necessary to get you closer to your objectives.

The example that comes to mind right now is looking for jobs. Have you ever applied for a job, after spending hours polishing your resume and cover letter, knowing that was your dream job, sent all your documents and waited (prayed) that you would get it? I have. It’s never worked.

Instead, what should you be doing? You should keep applying to multiple jobs, perfecting your writing skills, refining your search, and at some point, you get the job. Don’t put all your hopes and dreams into one basket, you will only get disappointed.

I talked about looking for apartments in the previous paragraph because I am looking for a new place these days. I do know that every time I come across the seemingly perfect ad, I just take it easy and don’t start dreaming about my new life there. If I did, I would get disappointed each time the apartment goes to another tenant. I just approach every visit as an opportunity to discover more about the housing market and about what I really want out of a new place. When the right apartment shows up on my path, I know I will get it. No worries, no rush.

Your appearance makes the difference

I’m sure you sometimes walk on the street or observe people at work and wonder why they are walking and behaving in a certain way. It feels like they carrying the burden of the whole world on their shoulders. You might hear their stories of bad luck, of others doing them wrong and you might tell yourself that their posture and attitude indeed reflect these kinds of issues.

The way we walk, the way we talk, the way we dress has a profound impact on our attitude towards life and therefore our results.

Your attitude changes completely when you visualize what kind of person you want to look like to get the life you want.

Have you ever gone shopping for new clothes and felt completely different the next day you wore those new clothes. You probably felt more comfortable, more confident because these new clothes reflected more who you were at that moment. The older clothes you had been wearing for a few years didn’t inspire you anymore and you needed a change to make you feel like the person you wanted to be.

Your body language will also show others what kind of person you are. If you are always hunching your back or slouching on your chair, you are definitely not conveying the image of a person who is active, determined and assertive. Try to change your posture just once while sitting and observe the changes in your thinking and attitude.

Your mindset is everything. Without the proper mindset, you can have all the time, energy and money in the world, nothing will ever happen. Have you thought about your mindset before and the impact it has on your life? Take a few minutes to write down how you look at and perceive your life. Does this description satisfy you? If not, feel free to take another read at the article :)
